Common questions about giving
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Not at present. EdLight Initiative is a registered Canadian not-for-profit corporation, but it does not yet hold registered-charity status, so we cannot issue tax receipts. Write to info@edlight.org if you need documentation of a gift.
How is my donation used?
It funds the things that keep programmes free for students: platform and course costs, learning materials, scholarships for the programmes that select participants, and the coordinators who run them in Haiti.
Can I donate in memory or honor of someone?
Yes! Please include a note with your donation or contact us to arrange a memorial or honorary gift. We can notify the honoree or their family of your generous contribution.
Will I receive updates on the impact of my donation?
Yes. Subscribe to our monthly newsletter at the bottom of any page for student stories, programme news, and updates on what your support paid for.
